Geaux Clear FAQ - Clear Bag Policy at LSU Venues

• Why is LSU Athletics adopting a Clear Bag Policy?

  LSU Athletics enforces a clear bag policy due to it being a conference-wide policy for the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The policy is intended to maintain the safety and security of athletic venues while decreasing the wait time for fans to enter the respective venue.

• Do other schools/teams have a clear bag policy?

  Yes, all SEC members adhere to the clear bag policy, and many teams across the country in both collegiate and professional sports have adopted variations of the policy as well.

• How does "Geaux Clear" (clear bag policy) help improve public safety?

  A clear bag policy allows for non-clear bags to be easily identifiable to law enforcement personnel inside and around the stadium. The policy also allows security personnel to be more efficient in the screening of all items entering the stadium.

• What types of bags may I bring into LSU Athletic venues?

  The following bags are permissible following a brief screening at all LSU Athletic venues:
  - Small clear or non-clear wristlets/clutches/wallets measuring smaller than 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a person’s hand)
  - 1-gallon clear, re-sealable freezer bags
  - Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags measuring smaller than 12" x 6" x 12"

• Is this policy strictly for LSU Football or for all LSU sports?

  "Geaux Clear" (clear bag policy) applies to all LSU Athletic events both ticketed and non-ticketed.

• What types of bags are prohibited (not allowed) in LSU Athletic venues?

  - Clear bags measuring larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
  - Non-clear wristlets/clutches/wallets/bags measuring larger than 4.5" x 6.5"

  Common prohibited bags include, but are not limited to:
  - Backpacks of any variety including drawstring/synch bags
  - Briefcases
  - Camera bags and camera lens bags/holders
  - Coolers and insulated bags
  - Fanny packs
  - Laptop or tablet bags
  - Luggage of any variety
  - Oversized purses

• Can I bring my clear backpack smaller than 12" x 6" x 12"?

  No - backpacks, regardless if clear or non-clear and size, are never permitted. This includes drawstring, synch bags.

• Can I bring a diaper bag?

  Yes, you may bring a clear diaper bag that adheres to the "Geaux Clear" policy into all LSU Athletic venues. Non-clear diaper bags are prohibited.

• Are seat backs/cushions permitted?

  Yes, you may bring your seat back/cushion; however, it cannot be wider than 16" and cannot impede on the comfort of those around you. Seat backs/cushions may not contain any zipper compartments/pockets/pouches.
  
  Fans will still be able to utilize LSU Seatbacks while inside Tiger Stadium. LSU Football season ticket holders can purchase a seatback for the entire season while non-season ticket holders can rent a seatback the day of the game. If you decide on the day of game, LSU seatback rentals are available at kiosks located throughout the stadium.

• Are there any changes to "Geaux Clear" (clear bag policy) for 2020-21?

  No, there are no changes to the “Geaux Clear” policy for 2020-21 from the policies in place in 2019-20.

• Are there any changes to the prohibited items list for 2020-21?

  No, please click here for a list of allowable and non-allowable items.

• I have medically necessary items/equipment. What should I do? Where should I enter?

  Those needing to bring medically necessary items/equipment into the stadium should enter a medically designated entrance. Bags will be screened by upon entry.

• How many approved bags may I bring into the venue?

  Each fan can bring one personal clear bag (12" x 6" x 12" or smaller OR 1-gallon freezer bag) AND a wristlet/clutch/wallet.

• I forgot my clear bag. Is there a place on campus I can purchase one?

  Yes, all LSU SportShop trailers and stores are equipped with approved clear bags for purchase. The main store is located outside Gate 7 on N. Stadium Dr. adjacent to Mike’s Habitat.

• If I place my non-approved bag inside of an approved bag, will it be permitted?

  No, the non-approved bag will be denied despite it being inside of an approved bag.

• Is there a place on campus I can store my non-approved bag?

  No, fans are encouraged to leave non-approved bags and items at home or in their vehicle. Bags and items left near the entrance gates of the stadium will be discarded.
